枣为宋代重要的辅助食品和重要果品，被纳入国家发展战略。官方积极推行种植枣树政策，并当作地方官的考核指标之一，颁布了历史上现存最早的砍伐枣树禁令。枣林主要分布于江北地区，质量上以京东青州、河东晋、绛州为佳，产量上除了京东、河东外还有河北、淮南。两浙产枣也较多，其他地区有零星种植。在北方及个别东南地区，枣常当饭食用及作备战备荒的物资储备，官方曾将枣当作军需物资。无论鲜枣还是干枣，都是宋人的口粮果品。北方大批的鲜枣、干枣贩往城市和南方，民间将枣作为礼品赠送。枣历来是养生的重要食物和常用药材，新出现了枣醋。枣树作为优质木材广泛使用，多用于造船、印刷雕版等。枣常做祭祀的供品及合香的香料，具有神圣性。红枣历来有赤心之名，象征着赤诚，在谐音寓意中当作早来使用。枣的经济价值、医疗价值、文化价值等，值得我们像宋人一样重视。

Jujube was an important auxiliary food and important fruit in Song Dynasty, which was included in the national development strategy. Officials actively promoted the policy of planting date trees, and as one of the evaluation indicators of local officials, issued the earliest existing ban on cutting date trees in history. Jujube forest was mainly distributed in Jiangbei area, the quality of Jingdong Qingzhou, Hedong Jin, Jiangzhou was the best, the output in addition to Jingdong, Hedong and Hebei, Huainan. Two Zhejiang jujube production was also more, other areas have sporadic planting. In the north and some parts of the southeast, jujube was often used for meals and as a reserve of materials for war preparedness, and the official has used jujube as a military material. No matter fresh jujube or dried jujube, it was the Song people’s ration fruit. A large number of fresh jujube and dried jujube sellers in the north went to the city and the south, and the folk gave jujube as a gift. Jujube has always been an important food and commonly used medicine for health, and jujube vinegar has emerged. Jujube trees were widely used as high-quality wood, mostly for shipbuilding, printing and engraving. Jujube was often used as sacrificial offerings and incense spices, with sacred. Red dates have always been the name of the heart, symbolizing sincerity, in the homophonic meaning as early to use. The economic value, medical value and cultural value of jujube deserve our attention like the people in the Song Dynasty.
