《劝农说》是一本稀见的江南地方性农书,成书于清代乾隆年间,由拙政老人撰写,现存版本为咸丰七年由陕西巡抚曾望颜将其与王心敬《区田书》一并刊刻的合刻本。通过对该书的研究,厘清了另一本重要农书《加庶编》的出处及成稿时间,纠正了前人关于作者身份认定的错误观点。该书还引入了历算家对区田问题的研究成果,是明清时期数学对农学产生影响的独特案例。书中所记载的诸多有关区田、树艺、牧养方面的全新农业技术,有助于加深学界对清代中期杭嘉湖地区农业技术史的认知。
Abstract:
Quannong Shuo(《劝农说》) is a rare local agricultural book in Jiangnan area. It was written by Zhuozheng Laoren in the Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. The extant version is a combined edition with Wang Xinjing’s Outian Shu(《区田书》) printed by Zeng WangYan, governor of Shaanxi Province in the seventh year during the Xianfeng Reign. Through the study of the book, this paper clarifies the source and the writting time of Jiashu Bian(《加庶编》) which is another important agricultural book , and corrects the wrong views on the identification of the author. The book also introduces the research conducted by mathematicians on the pit-cultivation, which is a unique case about how mathematics influences agronomy in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The book keeps a record of numerous new agricultural technologies in pitting fields, arboriculture and animal husbandry, and it is also beneficial for us to deepen the academic understanding of the history of agricultural technology in Hang-jia-hu area in the mid Qing Dynasty.
